The Next Step Video
This 19-minute video presents stories of five Texans with disabilities who enrolled in colleges, universities or technical schools. It is designed to challenge students with disabilities, their families and educators to consider higher education as an option. The video is closed captioned and includes some audio description. A Spanish version is also available (spoken, with closed captioning). A discussion and video guide on higher education is available in HTML or PDF formats.
Your Life, Your Choice (Consumer Directed Services)
A 17-minute video produced in 2007 about the Consumer Directed Services (CDS) option for Home and Community-Based Services (HCS) and Texas Home Living (TXHmL) waiver participants and is a joint project of the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services, the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities and the Texas Center for Disability Studies at The University of Texas at Austin. Video is available in closed caption and in Spanish.
Moving to a Better Life
The video is intended to provide insight into the lives of people leaving institutions and transitioning into group homes or family settings and is a joint project of the Texas Center for Disability Studies at The University of Texas at Austin, Advocacy Inc., and the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities. Medicaid Waiver 101
This 14-minute video provides a brief overview of the Texas Medicaid Waiver programs. The video is a joint project of the Texas Center for Disability Studies at The University of Texas at Austin, Imagine Enterprises and the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities.
